If anyone know PS scripting, you can try to edit the Install.ps1 script from step 3. If you cant see it, right click on win taskba r-go to tollbars-and choose the "toolbar for lenovo settings/vantage". Now, the batterygauge/toolbar should be visible and using the modern settings "page" with ability to open your installed CommercialVantage program. If you want to use the modern settings window after clicking on battery gauge, delete the QuickSetting.exe, and rename the QuickSettingEX.exe by deleting the "EX" from it. The EX one is for new modern vantage, the basic one is for lenovosettings (for enterprise, and you will not be able to "open" the CommercialVantage program form it, instead it will try to open/find the old lenovosettings app, the EX one is working correctly for me) In folder C:\ProgramData\Lenovo\ImController\Plugins\LenovoBatteryGaugePackage\圆4, there will be QuickSetting.exe and QuickSettingEX.exe. but important is the last line (stating - succesfull install/update) - restart pc type "install.ps1" and press enter - during the install there may be some errors, every pc for me was different. if NOT, go to your LenovoBatteryGaugePackage extracted folder from STEP 1 and open powershell as admin. check if battergygaugepackage is installed in: C:\ProgramData\Lenovo\ImController\Plugins Install COMMERCIAL VANTAGE (from ms store or standalone package from lenovo support site) ĭo this registry change "RequireAppAssociation"="1" proceed with the driver install, restart pc. now copy/extract the LenovoBatteryGaugePackage.cab form "Packages" folder somewhere (eg.desktop) go to C:\Windows\TempInst ,and find the folder with unpacked installer (probably the most recent one). Next find the extracted folder, start the MSI installer but firstly dont click next/or accept during the install, choose extract only. Hi, you can also have Battery toolbar in commercial vantage (only win10) in slightly different way: (starting from state when no version of vantage is installed)ĭownload Lenovo System Interface Foundation driver (the one from support page of your computer model) Lenovo Photo Library (including lots of wallpapers) Mirror of Hardware Maintenance Manuals for discontinued models Lenovo Windows Digital Download Recovery Images Lenovo Parts Removal and Replacement Videos (select ThinkPad tab) Specification guides for discontinued models When reinstalling Windows, try the Lenovo disc images, as longer battery times have been reported, probably due to custom drivers. A can of compressed air may be useful too, and a bottle of isopropyl alcohol and cotton buds are good for cleaning, but not on the screen. The only tools you need for servicing a ThinkPad are a set of small screwdrivers and a nylon spudger (for taking the screen and keyboard bezels off), and possibly a pair of tweezers. Corporate bulk purchasers don't usually go for it. Not only will it have better brightness, colour, contrast and viewing angles - you will most probably more than make up the investment when selling it. When buying a new ThinkPad, consider taking the IPS screen option if possible, as it doesn't cost much. When buying a used ThinkPad, remember to check that the BIOS is not locked with a supervisor's password and that Computrace is not enabled and activated. For IBM/Lenovo ThinkPad laptop enthusiasts.
